VOLUNTEERING

"It's great to get to know the people who come in and a privilege to watch them get back on their feet. It has been wonderful to work here."
Ian - volunteering at the Day Centre during his Gap Year.

Volunteers from across the Trust are now enjoying regular get-togethers to meet one another and find out what it's like working in the different projects across the Trust.

One of a huge team of enthusiastic volunteers from Soul Survivor Watford who came in to help spring clean The Haven day centre, and to sort some of the boxes and bags of harvest donations.

Looking to become a volunteer?

Come and join us, even a small amount of time can make a difference in any of the projects.

We are particularly looking for volunteers for our Wood and Furniture Recycling Scheme which helps to restore self esteem to service users by providing useful occupation, training, engendering a work ethic and providing a sense of community.

The scheme is open to the public Monday to Friday and volunteers are needed between 10:00 and 12:30 Tuesday to Friday and between 13:30 and 16:00 Monday to Friday.

Volunteers will need some practical skills with woodwork or furniture restoration and we would especially welcome anyone with upholstery, turning, french polishing, veneering, carving and/or engraving experience.

Just call Jill Steward, Administrator on 01923 210680,
or email jsteward@wnht.org.

Or you can download the volunteer application form (255kb).

"Volunteers capture the spirit of the Trust and are a powerful demonstration of love without reward"
