VOLUNTEERING

Do you have time on your hands? Do you want to make a positive contribution to the local community? As a volunteer with Watford New Hope Trust we can make active use of your skills and the time you give to us will support our work with clients enormously.

Come and be a part of The Chelsea Flower Show! Last year a team of clients supported by the Market Garden Supervisor took part in the Chelsea Flower Show and working in conjunction with other homelessness groups and the Eden Project secured the Silver Medal for "The Key". A day a week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 10.00 and 15.30) would be a great help towards getting us ready for this year's show when we hope to be part of the Gold medal winning team. You would be working alongside some of our clients and with the Market Garden Supervisor. We also need to establish a rota of volunteers who could ensure the garden is watered at the weekends over the next few months.

The Wood and Furniture Recycling Project needs volunteers with practical skills in woodwork or furniture restoration between 10.00 and 12.30 and 13.30 and 16.00 Monday - Friday. We would especially like to hear from anyone with upholstery, turning, French polishing, veneering, carving and/or engraving experience.

Calling all drivers – we need drivers on an ad hoc basis to help with furniture deliveries and collections and, looking ahead to Harvest (September/October), drivers who could commit to a day a week/fortnight for a 6 to 8 week period to collect donations from the many churches, schools and individuals who donate so generously to the Trust.
